Hi, I’m Gustavo Alito. I know what you’re thinking, that’s not really a Belgian name! Well, I come from Brazil. Moving from Brazil to Belgium in 2010 was the beginning of a new chapter in my life. With a background back there in computer science, I started my IT career here in 2013. I gradually worked my way up through various roles. Today I’m a Security Consultant at Orlox.
Curious to know how I ended up here? What I do on a daily basis?
You’ll discover it all in this article.
From passion to profession: IT support to cybersecurity
Okay, let’s start at the beginning. I’m originally from Brazil and always had an interest and passion for computer science. I didn’t immediately roll into my role (did you see what I did there?) as a Security Consultant.
I came to Belgium in 2010 and started my IT career here in 2013. I first focused mainly on tasks such as IT support until I came across cybersecurity. Bingo, jackpot!
In 2023, I joined a cybersecurity bootcamp at BeCode. That experience led me to Orlox which is also a company that’s part of the ACEN family. I had the chance to perform an internship with a focus on Power BI and reporting.
I eventually created a comprehensive and consistent dashboard for customers which enables them to have an easy overview on one page. Fast forward to my final presentation of my project, I got an offer from Orlox to stay on the team – which I was of course happy to accept! I felt the good vibes and a certain familiarity with the team since day one.
Fast forward to now
I now work here as a Security Consultant and am focused on all Microsoft Security Tools. What do I do on a daily basis? That’s not easy to answer. We perform Microsoft assessments on our customers and their assets and then provide a clear report of all these results.
Next, we guide them when it comes to improving their security, using all kinds of Microsoft Security Tools. Next to that, I’m also eager to learn. I’m focusing on getting all kinds of certificates! Luckily for me, they believe in me here at Orlox. I’m proud I’ve been given the time and opportunity to get certified.
“The decision to stay at ACEN wasn’t just about the work; it was about the people. At ACEN, you’re not just a number—it’s a place where people know and support each other, and that’s rare.”

Keeping cybersecurity alive: learning, growing and creating
That’s not the only thing I’m proud of. I have also created a Cybersecurity Awareness Program, where I tweaked the whole narrative of all the programs that are available elsewhere. Most of them don’t provide engagement for their customers. I wanted it to be more fun, so I created one on my own.
I think that’s the number one advice I would give to anyone interested in a job in cybersecurity. Like Dory says, just keep swimming, I’ll tell you to just keep learning! You can never have too much knowledge, not in this sector. So if there’s anything you need to remember from this article, it’s that.
Future hopes and dreams
Looking ahead, my goals are clear: keep learning, keep evolving, and make a meaningful impact in cybersecurity. Whether it’s deepening my expertise in Microsoft security or continuing to develop my cybersecurity awareness program, I’m driven by a passion for growth. And with ACEN’s support, I know the future looks bright. My goal for Orlox is also clear: we win together. I hope that we’ll grow as a company but I do hope that they keep their core values: people first. We treat each other with respect and kindness and I hope that doesn’t change in the future!
In the end, it’s not just about the certifications or the projects — it’s about being part of a team that values growth, learning, and human connections. That’s why I’m proud to be here at ACEN. Does this sound good to you? Let’s get in touch and discuss some opportunities!
