Microsoft Entra keeps evolving and we’re keeping up!

The field of Identity and Access Management is constantly changing, evolving and improving and Microsoft Entra is no exception here. In the past few months, we have seen all kinds of changes, innovations and new features within the Microsoft Entra platform. All those changes have a real impact on the organizations that rely on Microsoft technology. Let’s dive into what’s new.

From Agent ID to Entra Governance, what's new?

Entra Agent ID

One of the most talked about changes is ‘Entra Agent ID’. It’s a step toward so-called ‘agentic identities’. Instead of managing only people or applications as identities, organizations will now be able to define autonomous digital agents with specific rights and responsibilities. This opens the door to automated workflows, AI integration and scalable identity orchestration. Not bad!

Entra external ID

Another important change is the launch of ‘Entra External ID’. It replaces the existing B2C functionality and offers a more flexible, secure and future-ready solution to manage your external identities.

Think of customers, partners or even citizens. This is a big uplift in the capability for external interactions, and an opportunity for existing Azure AD B2C users to consider their development roadmaps.

Entra Governance

Last but not least… Entra Governance. Entra Governance continues to evolve with new capabilities and improvements for lifecycle management, access requests and risk insights. Together, all these components provide powerful tools to streamline identity management in larger and even more complex environments – IF they are set up correctly…

Why this matters and how ACEN can help

All of these changes can translate into huge opportunities for businesses and successes, but these also raise questions:

  • What does this mean for our current setup?
  • How do we move smoothly from B2C to Entra external ID?
  • Do we need to act now on Agent ID? Or can it wait?

At ACEN, we follow these developments daily and closely. We translate them into real, genuine value for our clients. We can help you decide where to start, to identify quick wins and to make the most out of your Microsoft investments. That’s not all! ACEN looks beyond Microsoft, assessing third-party solutions that can add value in governance, usability or reporting.
