Description of Assignment
The central role of Identity Governance & Administration (IGA) in an organization’s cybersecurity strategy cannot be overstated. As organizations navigate complex digital landscapes, the need for a coherent, identity-centric approach to cybersecurity becomes essential. Acen is a dedicated partner in guiding and supporting organizations on this journey, ensuring that solid Identity Governance & Administration forms the cornerstone of their cybersecurity strategy.
Identity Governance & Administration solutions need to be able to communicate with a multitude of other systems, hereafter referred to as “targets.” These other systems are SaaS solutions, on-premise IT software, commercial and custom developed. Communication with the targets takes place via so-called “connectors.” A connector is specialized software that retrieves data from targets, via REST, LDAP, database, or other protocols. Connectors add, modify, and delete account and entitlement data at the targets.
All IGA solutions have an extensive range of connectors available. However, in every Acen project we inevitably encounter a target for which no connector yet exists, or for which the provided connector lacks a specific piece of functionality. That is why, as Acen, we also focus on in-house developing custom connectors tailored to the client’s needs.
Objectives
At the end of your internship assignment, we expect to have a fully functioning IGA connector:
- developed according to the functional requirements of the project and the technical specifications of the IGA solution
- with the ability to read, add, modify, and delete account and entitlement data from the target
- equipped with working functional, security, and technical tests that demonstrate the quality of the connector code
- sufficiently documented so that our development and integration specialists can immediately use it in our integration projects
Depending on how the internship progresses and any new insights gained along the way, the assignment can be expanded in consultation.

Project Methodology
For its projects, Acen uses agile project methodologies such as pair programming and Scrum. This project is no exception to this. These methodologies place the quality of software solutions at the center. This is achieved by dividing the project into shorter iterations resulting in quicker feedback loops. This intensive communication – inherent to agile – ensures high-quality internship supervision.
