ACEN & Partner Keynotes @ Cybersec Europe
Imprivata keynote – 20st of May 2026 – 13:45
Beyond Passwords: Securing the Modern Workforce with Advanced Access Management
Speaker: Andy Wilcox – Senior Product Marketing Manager @ Imprivata
Room: Theatre 9
Short Summary:
Security and productivity are often treated as competing priorities, but in today’s threat landscape, that trade-off no longer holds. As cyberattacks increasingly target identity, traditional access controls like passwords not only expose organisations to risk, they also introduce friction that either slows
users down and impacts workforce efficiency or creates workarounds which lead to compromise.
This session explores how organisations can move beyond legacy authentication toward a modern, identity-centric approach that strengthens security while accelerating productivity. We’ll examine how advanced access management, combining passwordless authentication, biometrics, and real-time threat detection, can both reduce the attack surface and deliver fast, seamless access across clinical, enterprise, and frontline environments.
Whether you’re shaping security strategy or delivering it day-to-day, this session will provide practical guidance on securing the modern workforce, without slowing it down.
The Service Mesh: Turning multiple managed security services into one context-aware system
Speaker: Federico Meiners – Manager ACEN MDR
Room: Theater 2
Short Summary:
Different teams, same vendor, yet you’re constantly re-explaining your organization’s structure and needs.
What if your security provider captured your organizational context once and applied it across every service? ACEN’s service mesh does exactly this. Our connected managed service architecture links identity, network, MDR, CSIRT, infrastructure, and cloud services through shared context, telemetry, and intelligence.
Start with any service you need. The mesh adapts to your entry point and scales with you. Add more services and watch the multiplier effect: Each service compounds the value of the others because they all understand your business from the start.
This session walks through real implementations where customers run multiple services that share context automatically. We’ll show concrete metrics demonstrating how we boosted their security posture across prevention, detection, and response.
Illumio keynote – 21st of May 2026 – 10:00
Why Zero Trust is the answer to securing AI
Speaker: Trevor Dearing – Director, Critical Infrastructure Solutions @ Illumio
Room: Theatre 3
Short Summary:
AI is speeding up digital transformation and increasing risk. As systems grow more connected and complex, breaches are inevitable and more damaging. That’s why cyber resilience now matters as much as prevention.
This session shows how Zero Trust strengthens resilience by assuming compromise and limiting what attackers can reach. We’ll explore how policy‑driven connectivity and continuous visibility across assets, identities, and interactions help contain attacks, shrink blast radius, and keep critical services running. This session will also include a live case study example from Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg (ZOL)
Attendees will learn why visibility and explicit access control are essential in the AI era and how Zero Trust helps organizations stay operational even during an attack.
About Trevor:
Trevor has worked in networking and security for over 40 years. He has attended the birth of nearly all the technologies that we now take for granted, including Ethernet Switching, Routing, VPNs, Firewalls and the cloud. Originally a development engineer, he has spent the last 35 years working with organizations to optimise their networks and security. He is now the Global Director of Critical Infrastructure Solutions for Illumio.
ACEN keynote #2 – 21th of may – 14:30
Wrong angle, same hole : What golf and physics taught us about Microsoft Security
Speakers: Kristof Laerenbergh & Jahirt Ruiz
Room: Theater 2
Short Summary:
After working with more than 90 organizations, we found a clear pattern. Most are underusing or misconfiguring around 65% of the Microsoft security stack.
Most security programs fail not because of a lack of technology or budget, but because of a lack of gravity. Controls drift out of alignment. Governance loses its owner. Tools get licensed, configured once, and never touched again, and Microsoft environments are no exception. They sit at the heart of daily operations, yet new features go unused, configurations age, and small gaps appear. One degree off at address, and by the time the ball lands, you are deep in the rough. Over time, attackers take advantage of that drift to gain access through doors that should have been closed months ago.
This is why we built our own control tower, an internal managed service application born from years of hands-on work across all of those organizations. In this session, we share how it works, our secrets, what we learned, and the most common pitfalls.
The ACEN Cybersecurity card game
At ACEN we designed our own innovative card game. This game is meticulously crafted to move beyond theoretical knowledge transfer, offering a deeply immersive experience that resonates with decision-makers.
By actively engaging in strategic choices, budget allocation and realistic incident response, participants gain a visceral understanding of cybersecurity challenges and their potential impact, fostering genuine insight that traditional methods often miss.
This tangible engagement ensures that the lessons learned are not just understood, but truly felt and remembered.
