Hi there, I’m Andres Van der Steen, consultant in IS4U’s Delinea and Imprivata team. IS4U is one of the divisions of the ACEN group. Over the past two years, I got the opportunity to work on some incredible projects and to expand my knowledge. Let me share my story, from starting as an intern to becoming a specialist in Privileged Access Management (PAM) and Imprivata and what IS4U had to do with it.
A Honeypot lead to my dream job
My journey at the ACEN group started even before I started my career. During my studies in Applied Computer Science at KDG, I chose ACEN for my internship. My internship was at Nynox, the cybersecurity division of ACEN. During this eight week internship,
I worked on a “Honeypot” project, a tool used to attract and study cyberattacks. It was interesting, to say the least. I thought to myself: okay, if the internship is that interesting, imagine making a career out of it.
The mentorship I received during my internship was exactly the kind of mentorship I needed. They guided me through the technical and strategic aspects of cybersecurity, making the experience educational and exciting. Just two months after finishing up my internship project, I signed my contract with IS4U!
Imprivata and Delinea consultancy
After joining the team, I began my adventure with Cybersecurity Masterclass It’s a training for starters that introduces you to the world of cybersecurity. I initially started with CyberArk and Saviynt projects. I initially worked on CyberArk projects, which provided me a strong foundation to understand Privileged Access Management and Identity Governance Administration.
Right now, I’m doing consultancy work for Delinea and Imprivata on Privileged Access Management and Single-Sign-On level.. Imprivata enables healthcare to access, communicate, and transact patient information, securely and conveniently.
Delinea on the other hand, is a leading provider of privileged access management (PAM) solutions that make security seamless for the modern, hybrid enterprise.
No two weeks are the same. One day, I’m at the client implementing solutions, the next I’m in the office and the day after that I’m focused on maintenance support. That’s the way I like it!
Racing in Formula 1 with ACEN
What I love most about ACEN is the freedom and variety it offers. Whether I’m traveling to a client, working from home, or spending a day at the office, there’s a perfect balance. This flexibility keeps the job dynamic and exciting.
The people here are another reason ACEN is a great place to work. My team lead, Richard, has been an incredible mentor. He’s a real expert in so many different things we offer at ACEN and I’ve learned so much from him over the past two years. You can feel the team’s supportive atmosphere beyond work. Whether it’s chatting with colleagues at the office or attending team events, there’s a real sense of camaraderie.
Speaking of events, ACEN knows how to make work fun. The IT Trophy karting event, where we raced against other companies for four hours, was a standout moment. It felt like being part of a Formula 1 team! Teambuildings in Durbuy or a day at the beach are just a few more examples of how ACEN brings us together outside the office.

Learning, leading and looking ahead
My goal is simple: to become the best expert in Delinea and Imprivata and to learn as much as possible about these topics as I can. Every project is an opportunity to improve. In the future, I’d love to take on more responsibilities, maybe even lead a team or mentor interns myself. For now, I’m focused on expanding my knowledge and contributing to ACEN’s continued success.
ACEN is more than just a workplace; it’s a place where I can grow, learn, and make a real impact. Wouldn’t you want that for yourself?
